TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Definitions
“Company” refers to IQFM Ltd trading as Insight Technical.
“Client” refers to the person, company or organisation engaging the Company for services.
“Services” means the design, installation, maintenance, and/or monitoring of alarm and security systems.
“System” refers to the security alarm or other electronic equipment provided.

2. Scope of Work
A full specification will be agreed upon before installation.
Any additional work not included in the original quote will be subject to a separate charge.
All equipment remains the property of the Company until paid for in full.

3. Working Hours and Charges
Our standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturdays.
Work performed outside these hours will be charged at 1.5 times the standard rate.
Work carried out on Sundays and Bank Holidays will be charged at double time.
Work on Christmas Day and Boxing Day will be charged at triple time.
These charges apply unless otherwise agreed in advance in writing.

4. Installation
The Company will carry out installation work in a professional manner and with minimal disruption.
The Client is responsible for providing reasonable access to the premises.
Delays caused by the Client may result in rescheduling or additional charges.

5. Monitoring & Maintenance
If a monitoring or maintenance agreement is included, this will be subject to a separate written contract.
The Client is responsible for ensuring access to the property for scheduled maintenance visits.
Monitoring services may be provided via third-party accredited monitoring centres.

6. Warranties
Equipment is covered by a 12-month warranty unless otherwise stated.
This does not cover damage due to misuse, tampering, or third-party interference.
Maintenance agreements may extend warranty cover.

7. Payment Terms
A deposit may be required before installation begins.
Final payment is due on completion of works unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Late payments may be subject to interest charges under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

8. Client Responsibilities
The Client must notify the Company of any known risks (e.g., asbestos, structural concerns).
The Client must not tamper with or attempt to repair the system themselves.
The Client agrees to keep user codes and passwords confidential.

9. Limitation of Liability
The Company will not be liable for losses resulting from burglary, intrusion, fire, or other incidents.
The System is a deterrent and cannot guarantee protection against all risks.
Liability is limited to the value of the services provided.

10. Cancellation
Cancellation must be made in writing at least 48 hours before the scheduled installation or service.
Cancellations made later may incur a fee to cover costs incurred.

11. Force Majeure
The Company shall not be held liable for delays or failure to perform caused by events beyond its control, including but not limited to extreme weather, power outages, strikes, or supply shortages.

12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Complaints
We aim to provide a high level of service. If you are not satisfied, please contact us in writing or by phone and we will respond promptly in line with our complaints policy.

14. Internet Connectivity Responsibility
It is the Client’s responsibility to provide and maintain a suitable internet connection with any necessary open ports to allow communication between the installed system and any connected applications or services. The Company is not liable for system issues caused by poor connectivity, restrictive firewalls, or changes made to the Client’s network after installation.

15. SIM Card Rental
Where the Company supplies a SIM card as part of the System (for mobile network connectivity, backup or remote monitoring), the following terms apply:

  • SIM card rental is subject to a minimum contract term of 24 months.

  • The Client agrees to the ongoing monthly charges associated with SIM usage, as outlined in the original quotation or agreement.

  • Network provider price increases will be passed on to the Client at the time they occur. Current increases are typically around 4% per annum, but this may vary based on the provider’s pricing policies and inflation-based adjustments.

  • Early termination of SIM contracts may result in termination fees, equal to the remaining contract value unless otherwise agreed in writing.

16. Hire Terms and Customer Responsibility
If any equipment or system components are hired or loaned to the Client, the Client accepts full responsibility for their safekeeping. The Client agrees to return all hired items in good working condition at the end of the hire period.
In the event of loss, theft, or damage beyond reasonable wear and tear, the Client will be responsible for the full replacement cost or repair value as determined by the Company.

We will design your security system not only to perform well, but to be cost effective, reliable and be easily upgraded should your needs change.

Install

Our installation teams are prompt. reliable and thorough. Professional install of your security system includes comprehensive instruction and aftercare.

Maintain

Regular and reliable maintenance schedules to suit you budget and prolong your security systems includes any software updates required to protect your network.

Upgrade

Upgrading your existing security systems can often be a better option. Benefits of upgrading include cost savings, enhanced security and extended equipment life.
